Laughs, smiles, sighs,
secrets spread clockwise.
Overwhelmed in this crowd,
adrift on my own cloud.
When will someone see,
my laughs, smiles, and sighs aren’t me
If someone would only look
into my eyes
they’d see all the flaws
in my disguise.
Everyone surrounding me is in bliss
and here I am,
stuck with this loneliness.

Missing The Bliss

Perspective
The way she walks,
you can read her insecurities
like the open book
she hides behind.
Eyes diverted
from everyone else.
She clutches her book
as if
it’s her protection,
from the dark, harsh world
the envelops her.
Her security drops,
to the floor.
Her shield shatters.
She doesn’t hesitate,
doesn’t stop to pick it up.
Strides away,
with a new perspective.
